Akbari Bridge is a remarkable structure built by an Afghan named Munim Khan during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar. With 15 arches, the bridge connects the two sides of Jaunpur. The sculpture of a lion tussling with an elephant is positioned at the southern end of this 16th century bridge. The structure is strong enough to resist earthquakes and floods.
